Full Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi
Receive at Noi Bai International Airport. Check in hotel. Free time to walk along the old quarter discovering the unique features of the buildings. In the evening, enjoy Water Puppet Show, a very special fine art only in Vietnam. Stay in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi - Ha Long (B, L)
After breakfast, a 3 - hour drive will take you to Ha Long Bay, twice recognized by Unesco as the World Heritage Site, historically described as “The dragon descending to the sea”. Arrive in Ha Long, check in hotel. Take boat trip to explore the magnificent range of limestone mountains and thousands of magically beautiful Nature-made caves and grottos: Then Cung, Dau Go, Sung Sot... From bird’s eyes view, Ha Long looks like a gigantic lively picture. Enjoying the lunch with fresh seafood will be your abiding memory. On the way back to hotel, you will admire the romantic sunset on the beach. Stay in Ha Long.
 

Day 3: Ha Long - Hanoi (B, L)
In the morning, experience the feeling of Tet atmosphere by visiting Trade Center and Flower Market. After enjoying intimate lunch (possibly with a local Vietnamese family), take bus back to Hanoi. You will visit a Hanoian family. Overnight stay in Hanoi.
 

Day 4: Hanoi (B, L)
You will work with other members in the family to prepare for Tet ceremony: go to Tet market, flower market, pack and boil square cake, our traditional cake only in Tet... The rest of time visit One Pillar Pogoda and the Literature Temple, the first university in Vietnam built in 1070, Museum of ethnology... and go shopping in the old quarter. Stay in Hanoi.
 

Day 5: Hanoi (B, L)
Every members of the family have to be at home to worship the ancestors. You will be guided some etiquettes: incense burning, praying (paying respect by shaking joined hands), wishing... Then everyone gathered together to have a party, toasting and wishing others all the best... Then you will go out to enjoy the Tet atmosphere with a flow of people on bustle street and attend in Tet Festival in many places of interest. Don’t forget to pick buds or young leaves to bring home the Luck for the New Year.
 

Day 6: Hanoi - Hue (B, L)
Today is the first day of Vietnamese’s New Year. Vietnamese consider it very important as it is supposed that if you get luck in this day, you will get good luck all the year long. After lunch, you will take flight to the ancient city of Hue then take bus to hotel. you will feel a different Tet atmosphere from what you have experienced in Hanoi as the Central people have some different costume to celebrate Tet festival. After lunch, you will visit the Old Citadel, capital of Nguyen Dynasty. This is a complex of buildings with unique architecture features built from 1805 to 1832 stretching on square of 5200 m2. In the evening, take boat to enjoy the beautiful sightseeing along Huong River wallowing in Hue melodies imbued with traditional identity and attend the flower lantern festival. Stay in Hue.

Day 7: Hue (B, L)
After breakfast, visit a Hue family and take part in some Tet celebration activities in a family. Then you will have chance to enjoy Tet atmosphere on the street by attending Gia Lac Spring Flower market where all kinds of colorful tropical flower are available and admiring the creational designs in many kites in Kite flying Festival and joining in an exciting event: Boat Racing Festival... Rest of time to explore the old features of many buildings in Hue by visiting a complex of pagodas and shrines which existed hundred of years: Thien Mu pagoda considered the finest pagoda in Hue, Hon Chen shrine, Minh Mang‘s Tomb... Stay in a Hue.
 

Day 8: Hue - Hoi An (B, L)
In the morning, continue to visit a number of pagodas and tombs. After the lunch, take bus Hoi An. We will pass over Hai Van or literally called “Pass of Ocean Cloud”. On the peak of the Pass always covered by the cloud and wind, visitors would have the feeling like going in the paradise with magnificent Mountains on one side and deep blue sea on the other side. Reach Hoi An, an ancient harbor city dating back in 16th century recognized as World Heritage Site in 1999 by Unesco. At night, you will take part in Tet Festival in the old quarter. Stay in Hoi An.
 

Day 9: Hoi An (B, L)
After breakfast, you will explore the old quarter, former biggest trading harbor in the Southeast Asia in 16 – 17th century by visiting Japan Bridge Pagoda, Guang Dong club – house… In the afternoon, visit Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountain) and Non Nuoc stone fine art village. Enjoy an intimate farewell dinner with a local family. Stay in Hoi An.
 

Day 10: Free day in Hoi An (B)
Today is at leisure for further independent exploration of this charming town - bicycle is a great way to get around: Working as farmer at Tra Que vegetable village or learning to make lantern (contact us for more). You can head out to Cua Dai beach, a 4km. easy ride from the town centre, take a day trip to My Son relics or just enjoy shopping.
 

Day 11: Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh (B, L)
After breakfast, take bus to Da Nang airport to take flight to Ho Chi Minh (formerly Saigon). Rest of the day is free to join Festival with local people. Stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
 

Day 12: Ho Chi Minh - Tay Ninh (B, L)
In the morning, you will visit Cu Chi tunnel, the so- called “Steel Ground”, a great work dug deep into the ground of Viet Cong in the struggle again the US. Then you will have chance to learn about CaoDaism, a very famous religion in the Southern Vietnam by visiting Tay Ninh Great Temple, a holy site attracting many local and foreign you. Back to Ho Chi Minh City and attend a number of recreation activities for Tet to discover the differences in costume between the Northern and the Southern. Stay in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 13: Ho Chi Minh (B, L)
After breakfast, free time to discover the life in Ho Chi Minh City, a city of the harmonization of traditional national values and Western cultural features. Spend a night with a lot of unforgettable in Ho Chi Minh City.
 

Day 14: Ho Chi Minh (B)
After breakfast, free time for you to go shopping... Then take bus to the airport. Flight back home. End of service.
